Chair Positions Available!!

Just a reminder that we have the following chair positions open:

• Historian
• Outreach
• E-Fair
• Fundraising
  

Holding a chair position is a great way to get involved in SWE and gain some experience!
Keep in mind that we'll be going through the apps around Jan 6 and if selected for a position you'll be required to go to a mandatory chair retreat on Jan 10.

Also, keep in mind that elections are coming up in a few short months as well! Chair positions are a great building block for the upper level positions.

Meeting Announcements from December 1st

Hello Ladies!
Meeting Announcements::

• Congratulations Alina Ciornii, our Meeting Coordinator, for being chair of the month!
• Wine and Dine date has been finalized. December 9th, 7pm at Bone Fish Grill. There's room for 2 more people, email us(swe.ufl@gmail.com) if interested!
  
• IIE Cup: Field day geared towards engineering majors, hosted by IIE. SWE is getting together a group for the event. Teams of 7-10 people will compete for the IIE cup. It will be held this Thursday, Dec 10th, from 11am-4pm on Flavet Field.
• E-Week Update:We're hosting the kickoff social on Friday, February 10th. Have ideas for themes?? Email steph224@ufl.edu
• SWE Points:Next semester we will be implementing a new point system to determine your status as an active member. Points will still be given for meeting attendance, but attendance and/or volunteering at SWE events will also be required.
• Executive Elections:We will be holding elections earlier this year than in years past, probably just after spring break, so start thinking about what positions to run for! Feel free to ask the current execs about what their post entails, and read the descriptions on the website.
  

This was our last meeting of this year. We'll announce when the next meeting is closer to the beginning of next semester.

Hello Ladies!
I realize this is SUPER late, but here's some highlights and announcements from our last meeting::

Chair of the Month: Stephanie Weber, our Social Chair

Upcoming Events:

• Wine and Dine: December 7, 8, or 9(tba)::Come out and learn how to act professionally and impress future employers on those important corporate dinners.
• Consession Stands: We need volunteers for the consessions at Gator Games: next Game, FSU, then basketball games this spring. Contact Lisa for more info.
  

Also, we are looking for an e-fair director. This is a great way to get involved with SWE. What does the e-fair director do? You plan and organize a booth to run for two days during BEC's E-Week in February, usually a fun science project, to get middle schoolers excited about engineering. Interested? Get the application from our the bottom of our site.

Other Updates.

As you may(or may not have) noticed, Google has stopped supporting GooglePages, and moved our site to it's Google Sites service.
What does this mean to you??
The formatting of our old site and our new site are going to be a little different. I, your webmistress, was already planning on switching everything over to a blog format for updates(RSS feeds to your email are super easy, and archiving is much easier as well).

In the next few weeks I'll continue working on the website, trying to make it prettier and more useful, to you, our SWE members.
